Why do people perform with fire?

When most people see a fire show for the first time. It offers mystery and intrigue. Fire performance can usually be divided into several different categories.

 

• Dance: From belly dancing to street dancing, fire is often added to dance routines because it is an organic complement to the rhythm of the body. This can be seen in traditional Polynesian dances, exotic dances, and music videos.

 

• Drama: There’s nothing like adding an element of fire to spice up drama. The use of fire can depict grace, power, danger or anything else you can think of.

 

• Technology: This is probably the fastest growing area of fire performance. This is a branch of juggling that includes juggling itself. Performers strive to master the technical competence of their chosen firefighting tool. Many techniques are used in theater and dance performances.

 

Fire is often added to a performing tribal, spiritual or ritual feel. Humans have danced with fire for thousands of years, but modern technology offers some new options. The key is to use fire in a safe way to portray the illusion of danger and happiness.

 

Fire safety:

• There is no formal fire conclave safety training, but you can always stop by a fire conclave or check “What, where, when” to get information about training that may be provided by theme camps or individual fire groups.
• All fire performers must have another person on site as safety personnel. This person should be able to extinguish tools using a flame retardant material (such as duvetyn) and a second piece of wet clean natural fiber (such as a cotton towel) if your costume is ignited.
• Security personnel should also be able to handle any situation that you may not be aware of as you perform. You never know when something might go wrong, so be sure to stay awake for fire safety. Just because you act in unison doesn’t mean everyone around you will.
